Welcome to Remetemente — a quiet corner of the world where nature, history, and forgotten stories still breathe.

My name is Zoli, and I live in Hungary, in the heart of Central Europe. For many years I have wandered through forests, fields, old ruins and hidden trails, carrying a camera, curiosity, and a deep respect for the places where the past still whispers.

Remetemente began as a simple idea:
to slow down, to listen, and to let the world speak for itself.

What started as nature photography soon grew into something larger — a blend of wildlife observations, folklore, mysterious legends, and peaceful moments from the landscapes I call home. Over time, it became a community. A place for people who feel the same pull toward silence, stories, and the living world around us.

Here, birds are not just birds — they are messengers of seasons.
Ruins are not just stones — they are memories.
A quiet morning in the forest can tell more than a hundred pages.

Motto

– What were you doing?
– I was sitting outside, watching nature.

– So you weren’t doing anything?
– I was. I was sitting outside, watching the world.

– And did anything happen?
– The wind was blowing, birds were flying, ants ran around my feet… even a grasshopper jumped on me.

– So nothing happened.
– Everything happened.

– And you stayed there alone for hours, like a hermit?
– You know, I’ve travelled everywhere — Catholic, Reformed and Lutheran churches, synagogues and mosques. In every place I met someone. Someone, or something, that was also out there… in the swaying flowers, in the butterflies, in the birds, in the trees. Wherever I looked.

– God?
– I don’t know. God? Nature? The world. Life.

(Remetemente – motto)

Remetemente is built on four pillars

Nature

Hidden trails, subtle changes of light, the daily miracle of animals simply existing.

People

Old customs, local stories, and the ways our ancestors once lived beside the land.

World

Connections between cultures, myths, and human imagination that echo across continents.

Life

Moments that remind us to breathe, to wonder, and to look up at the sky again.

I share short videos, stories, and photographs on social media platforms, including my English YouTube channel — bringing Hungarian and Carpathian legends to life: shadows moving among ruins, ancient spirits whispered in the wind, and the forgotten heartbeat of old places.

But Remetemente is not only about mysteries.
It is about respect — for nature, for the past, and for the fragile peace we all search for.

If you are new here, welcome.
Take your time. Wander slowly.
You might just find a story that follows you home.

f you feel a connection to the stories, the landscapes, or the quiet moments shared here,
you are welcome to reach out.

Whether you have a question, a thought, a story of your own, or simply want to say hello,
I’m always glad to hear from people who walk the world with curiosity.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
